train service from scranton to new york may soon return

Trains may one day again run from Scranton to New York City. PENNDOT, the state of New Jersey, New Jersey Transit, the railroad authority, along with Lackawanna County, Monroe County, and Warren and Sussex counties in New Jersey may finally get the financing. They are applying together to get grant money through the federal bipartisan infrastructure bill to make it happen. Amtrak already predicts the train would attract 450,000 riders a year.
